ABOUT SACHRAGA
Formed in New York City, Sachraga is a fashion house shaped by the elemental lines and textures found in nature. Named after the Adirondack peak Couchsachraga—derived from the Algonquin word for ‘wilderness’—the label distills the beauty of the mountains into garments of refined modernity.
New York provides the framework—pace, precision, and clarity.
Japan provides the depth—material innovation, craft tradition, and patience.
Together, they shape our quiet, intentional approach to menswear rooted in making garments and accessories properly.
SUPPLY CHAIN RESPONSIBILITY
Working in mediums such as wool, denim, and leather, Sachraga prides itself in its supply chain. The responsibility begins with raw materials sourcing from our curated group of small textile mills and extends to our cut and sew and post-production processes.
Our garments are produced in limited quantities, developed through close relationships with manufacturers who value technique as much as outcome. Every decision is considered for longevity, not immediacy.
See our active partners in our production network below:
DENIM: Collect | Kojima, Okayama, JP
Collect weaves their fabrics on antique looms which gives the fabrics a natural texture and authentic finish. The weaving speed of these vintage looms is less than 1/5th the speed of modern shuttle-less looms and this slow craft process weaves the most beautiful ‘real denim’ selvedge around.
STATEMENT: We are a denim textile manufacturer founded in Kojima, Kurashiki, Okayama Prefecture. By the help of our skilled craftsmen, we create innovative textiles with the universal value of vintage items. We are also responsible for protecting the Setouchi environment and create sustainable products.
JERSEY: Marucho Inc. | Ishihara, Sumida-ku Tokyo, JP
STATEMENT: Our goal is transmission of sewing technology, development of local manufacturing and enrichment of communities. We produce required items in appropriate volume, avoiding excess inventory and continuing to pursue high quality, made in Japan garment manufacturing without reliance on overseas supply chains.
Japan has a unique culture of clothing, based on the kimono, a single length of fabric, painstakingly tailored for the ultimate in wearing comfort. Inheriting those skills and spirit, we’re forging a new culture. We’re taking manufacturing into a future made possible by sustainability.
At MARUCHO, we have identified our own set of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in keeping with global goals adopted by the UN Sustainable Development Summit in September 2015.
